Review on SUUNTO 5: A Sleek and Portable GPS Sports Watch Offering 24/7 Activity Tracking and Wrist-Based Heart Rate by Adam Kotowski ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The item is average, not sure if it's worth the money.

Sports watch of excellent quality, materials, appearance, quality factor, everything is super. The application is excellent, the clock is normally synchronized, there is all the necessary information on training, it is clear, accessible, convenient, there are no questions at all. The watch menu is very convenient. The watch motivates you to train, it is possible to share the results with other Suunto owners Cons: 1. In advertising for this watch, it was initially a hoax: the screen pictures are bright and saturated. In reality, the screen is dim, the colors are faded. I understand marketing, but not as much. Really for such money it was impossible to stick a normal, readable screen. 2. The training results are completely inaccurate. According to my activities: on an ellipse, it winds up steps and mileage. Smartphone and simulator +/- approximately the same 2 km, ~ 3000 steps. The clock at the same time counts 6-7000 steps and 1.9-2 km. On a snowboard: it records some extra descents, in detail the descent is 0 m, but the watch writes it into the statistics. When walking, mileage and steps count more than a smartphone, although visually, the smartphone program measures steps accurately. 3. Adaptive training: all the time offers to do some funny time - 1.5-3 hours a week. With my activities, this is generally a minimum of effort. I scored on it, without straining 6 - 8 hours a week. No fatigue, cheerful and full of energy. The watch shows total fatigue, the body's resources are 5-10% ) By default, the steps are 10000 and if you just walk this distance, the watch does not write them to the statistics. If you turn on the "walking" program every day. hours will be included in the statistics and will be considered an incredible load for a week. 4. It is not clear how to increase Vo2 max, at first the watch took into account oxygen consumption when walking, then it stopped, I see it in the application, why, it is not clear, although I increased the mileage, time and intensity. I was given this watch as a gift and it's not cheap. But with such errors . the mi band is really clearer and more accurate, taking into account the fact that you can also connect mi-scales to the program, in general it turns out to be space. 30 vs 2 thousand

Pros
  • Quality, quality factor, many functions, this is exactly a sports watch
Cons
  • Inaccurate readings, inadequately expensive in terms of price-quality ratio, dull, faded display.

Got pros: Appearance. Added features. Some cons: Dislike Suunto's approach to moving to a phone app.
