It was easy to put together but I was surprised it was more wobbly than I expected. if you're careful how you hold it. It's a silver gunmetal type, not black, but it looks nice with black spark plugs. By the way, you can use all commercially available cone candles, the ones I bought fit very well. I believe they have a 3/4" base. I saw one person say to use tape around the base and I thought really? Because I didn't. Mine fit right in the holders, fit perfect. I've wanted a candelabra for a long time and this one is just beautiful. Just great for Halloween or anytime to add a nice gothic touch to your surroundings! Very pretty, would buy again. :)
