This is a very cool product for removing dirt and grime from valuable comics or books. I've been practicing on old, tattered comics and found this works very well. This is a slow process as the plasticine/playdough type material is gradually cleaned, removing dirt and some stains. Therefore, its use requires patience. Absorene works great with the Magic Eraser sponge. You remove most of the dirt with a Magic Eraser (WARNING: Magic Erasers are extremely abrasive and can easily damage paper) and then remove more dirt with Absorene Putty. Alternative 2 (Magic Eraser - Absoren - Magic Eraser - Absoren) gave me the best results. Absorene collects dust created by Magic Eraser, so use Absorene last.
