My baby is allergic to this

I was pleased with the ease of use of the muesli and my baby happily ate it with breast milk as his first introduction to the formula. I write about how we discovered he was allergic. about this cereal, hopefully warning other new parents who may not be aware of their child's potential sensitivity to its ingredients. First off, we started introducing this porridge when our son was a few weeks old at 4 months. The pediatrician gave the green light but didn't suggest a specific brand to start with. I chose this granola after reading the reviews, thinking it was a safe, natural option (which it might be for other kids). The instructions state that you should start by mixing 1 tablespoon of muesli with 3-4 tablespoons of breast milk. In hindsight, I think my doctor suggested taking a teaspoon of granola and starting an hour after eating. So I think we started with too much at once - the kid swallowed it first and found it exciting! We have spoon fed him several times without incident. One evening we fed him the pap offered on the box and put him to sleep. He woke up upset and I fed him. He later fell asleep again and woke up vomiting. We bathed him and he vomited every few minutes until he vomited dry bile. We ended up taking him to the ER and ER. They gave him Zofran to stop him from vomiting, but they never definitely told us what was causing the problem. Shaken by this experience, we decided to take a break and give him nothing but breast milk. About a week later he was 5 months old. Next weekend (today) we decided to give him a more diluted amount of cereal (he doesn't sleep well and people claim cereal helps him stay full through the night). Less than an hour later - the same scenario as with the last vomit. We gave him Zofran shortly after he vomited, but he seemed to need to completely empty his stomach of the flakes. I must add when we fed him cereal both times he acted like he didn't really like the taste. We'll never attribute it to fussiness again, but for now, we're concluding that he's allergic to one of the ingredients in this porridge, most likely wheat. In short, parents, please be careful when introducing this porridge to your little kids.
