I didn't buy it for rain, I bought it to use as a sauna suit. To do this I had to trim the leg holes and add elastic. Also, an elastic band has been added to the bottom of the jacket for a drawstring around the waist. I can do the same with the bottom of the sleeve. I think I would be a good backup or emergency rain suit to carry around in the car just in case. Not sure if I would recommend it for everyday wear during the rainy season or for heavy work. (For years I've been researching Midwestern fields so thin raincoats never held up, but PVC nylon covers did their job well: They were washable, wearable, and even tumble dry. I usually kept two sets to avoid drying out in the dryer , which shortens their lifespan.) At the same time, do not wash items with paid backing or PVC with the addition of Oxyclean or Oxy to detergents. This destroys the coating almost instantly, and it begins to deteriorate rapidly. Just one wash ruined my beautiful jacket which has been washed and worn like new for several wonderful years. I put it in a load which I thought a little Oxy would help lift and instead it damaged the jacket which when put in the washing machine looked brand new. Would recommend for the price but again not for the durability. However, I will not use it for raincoats. We have very good waterproof jackets and some of them with pants.
