This is an update of my previous review. I guess I should have read the previous 1 star reviews from others. My first pump lasted 2 years. This new one I just bought in January lasted 3 months and failed without warning. No leaks, no gasket issues, just drowned out. Production quality control must have deteriorated significantly. Looking at the warranty now it says to contact the manufacturer directly but no contact information is given so I think if I want to proceed with this with the manufacturer I should research further. Unsurprisingly, the warranty for the previous model has been extended. Apparently this one should be too. I'll look around for another brand. Once ashamed of you, twice ashamed of me and I will not be erased! This thing is a champ. Exactly what you need for a freshwater aquarium. I read some of the reviews and was concerned about the noise but from where it is it's not even a problem. It moves, but you have to understand that it's a little giant that only moves water when it needs to, so that shouldn't come as a surprise. It can be screwed on like we did and then it won't move. If I had to replace these I would definitely buy them again. We installed it about 50 feet from the house; in the garage. You would never know it's that far away OR such a small device because once you turn on the water the pressure is no different than getting water straight from town. This is a powerful little giant.
