Before using this kit, I had several instances of battery drain on my GoPro3 due to the camera button tripping during shipping and the battery dying before I started shooting could start. Needless to say, this gave me a really tough time, especially as I have never experienced such issues with GoPro1 and 2 cameras under the exact same circumstances. Then I discovered this kit that protects. Protective case for GoPro3! What struck me immediately was that the large cover included in the kit not only covers the lens area (obviously an important part), but also covers an all-important on/off button. I guess I'm not the only one with a GoPro3 that turns on unintentionally during shipping. The lid prevents this and saves the day. a small port cover (since I need to have the ports available when filming), so I think it's pretty much useless. The battery cover is only useful if you lost the original cover.
