Review on VIVO Adapter VESA Mount Kit: Quick Release Bracket πŸ”§ for Easy LCD Monitor and TV Screen Mounting - Stand-VAD2 by Wendy Hernandez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Needs upgrade

I bought this to hang a small 10 inch security monitor on the wall next to my back room door. The monitor has 75 x 75 VESA holes on the back and all inputs face down. There are two rear audio speakers, and the controls for everything are on the front. The monitor is an ideal candidate for wall mounting, the only problem is that most mounts are overkill for something so small. My main concern was that I wanted it to be as close to the wall as possible and secondly, that it snap into place securely enough that it couldn't be accidentally knocked off its mount. This one ticked all the boxes and came in for a reasonable $12, which was almost right considering the monitor was only $80. YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. no more than it's worth. There is a metal back panel that attaches to a wall. You have a choice of two hole positions and there are four holes in each position. The faceplate simply slides into a V-slot and locks into a spring-loaded arm that can be reached with fingertips under most monitors. This faceplate is drilled for 75mm or 100mm VESA spacing. There's no pan, tilt, swivel or other adjustments. WHAT YOU DID WRONG First off, let me say that for the most part, this mount is perfect for a small monitor. When you put it in the right position, it locks securely and it won't wobble or wobble, you can't accidentally hit it and knock it off the wall. What they inexplicably got wrong is that when installed, as shown in my photos, there is a tab on the wall that you have to put your finger through to pull it forward to pick the lock, against the wall is pressed. eventually you stick your finger behind it, and there's not enough room to not even stick a knife or credit card behind it. Glad I checked everything before actually installing it. THE SOLUTION The obvious solution was to bend the tab forward enough for me to slip my finger behind it. But it's not as easy as it seems. The whole product is made of strong steel, which is not easy to bend, and besides, there is nothing to grab, so you can bend it in the right place. It took a vise and some ingenuity to bend it. But I did, and as you can see from the other picture, it's accessible as it should have been from the start. SUMMARY If you wish to wall mount your monitor as clearly stated in the product description, this product will not do so unless you bend it. tab like me If you want to use it for other reasons, it will probably work just fine.
