Review on Travelon Convertible Backpack Tote BLACK by Paul Beach

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The outside pocket has no zipper, but is otherwise very functional and attractive.

If you're considering this bag to protect your belongings while traveling (whether overseas or just to a nearby town), the first thing to know is that the front zip pocket doesn't have a lockable zip. It's ok if you wear it as a large bag or shoulder bag or shoulder bag because you can put that side against your body for extra security. Worn as a backpack, however, this bag is wide open to thieves. This looks like an oversight on Travelon's part. This outer pocket is actually great storage, but if you're afraid of theft, you'll probably only want to store cheap, easy-to-replace items (lip balm, sunscreen, etc.) in it. If you plan to use this bag mainly as a backpack and need more secure features, you might be better off getting a genuine Travelon backpack. The main compartment has a lockable zip, so in a backpack configuration it's not entirely useless as an anti-theft bag: just might not be the best option, depending on your needs. My goal with this bag was to find something to fit all my stuff in plus a few extras for the kids while moving away from using a full sized diaper bag. I believe this will help! Plenty of room in the main compartment (not many pockets for small items but I can manage) and the outside zipped compartment has two slip pockets that also have a very small gusset to give a bit more room. The convertible strap options will come in handy for long days, allowing me to change the way I wear it depending on how many arms, hips, shoulders or arms I have free and the weight of the bag. An added bonus is the water bottle pocket: I love that it can be zipped shut when not in use, making the bag slimmer and less bulky. Finally. the bag looks good. I wanted something I could take anywhere and I think I found it. The only exception would be a black tie event which definitely wouldn't work for a full length dress. But it suits almost every other scenario, be it professional, casual, travel related or just everyday activities.
