Calibration failed

The first negative aspect of this product is that the instructions on the packaging are inadequate. The instructions provided on the packaging on the website are clearer and more comprehensive. Why not list the best travel destinations along with the product? Other reviewers mentioned that the display was scratched. I had that too, which made it difficult to read from 100F to around 120F. I don't plan on monitoring at these temperatures so I was willing to ignore it. At first I couldn't get the nut in the socket the nut was in. Shape calibration tool because the bar was too wide. I ended up inserting the rod into the sleeve after dipping the sleeve in boiling water to soften the plastic. Then I put the rod in and injured myself trying to insert it. First I checked the temperature of the water with a thermometer that I am sure I know. It alternated between 211 and 212 degrees Fahrenheit. Perfect. I dipped this thermometer, it read 180 F. Then I tried to calibrate it with the tool. Guess what? The nut does not fit the nut shaped tool. The mother was bigger than the tool. I ended up removing a cheap nut shaped plastic tool and putting a nut in it, making it impossible to calibrate with the tool. I ended up having to take my own wrench to calibrate it, which was very difficult because the nut is so thin. The next day I checked the accuracy of the thermometer just to see how well it held up. This time he measured boiling water at 190 F. You should only calibrate if the thermometer has been dropped or if it has not been used for a long time. Having to calibrate each time before using it with your own tool that isn't specifically designed for the job is a huge pain. I threw the thermometer in the trash.
