These are very useful headphones. They're easy to set up and have audible notifications to let you know the device is on, off, and connected. The blue light flashes when connected. You can leave the ear hooks on or take them off. When the earhooks are removed, you cannot distinguish which earbud is for the right ear and which is for the left. I didn't find them convenient either way, but it would be easier if they were labeled L and R. What I did notice, however, is a slight "static noise" in the background. Whether I was listening to audio or whatever, or even when nothing was playing, there was always a bit of static. What I also didn't like was the fact that the control box was so close to the head and not lower, for example on the neck or chest. I suspect the short cable solves the problem of people accidentally yanking out their headphones when doing aggressive exercises where they could nail me to my head in certain places. While I didn't like the layout, I did like the raised volume on/off buttons and microphone. Even if you can't see the control panel, the raised buttons ensure you're pressing the correct control.
