I bought the size 22 to wear as bandanas and it's the perfect size for that. .They are not soft! They were quite rough and stiff right out of the box, but after a few washes they softened up a bit. Reminds me of stiff linen napkins with a low thread count (the thread squares are clearly visible in my photo and you can see as they are transparent in the sun) and wrinkle easily. Maybe not the best option for blowing your nose down if you have an overly sensitive nose, but great as a bandana or for wiping sweat. The fabric and stitching are very washable. They haven't shrunk, they've kept their shape, the threads haven't broken. I have already washed them at least 5 times (cold/warm water, air drying). The quality is 100% better than cheap Chinese bandanas. If you are looking for bulky black organic cotton bandanas Made in USA b buy these (size 22" or the next size up)
