As I don't have a spare in my car I have a tire repair kit and a 12v compressor with me. I will also use it for bike tires because it's not refueling so fast that the likelihood of tire damage is reduced. It uses a DC plug in the car, so I figured it would be more convenient to run on battery power. I was hoping it would be a bit quicker but I didn't expect it to be that good. It really fills car tires in no time. This is much faster than a 12v compressor and about half as loud. There are different settings for inflating basketballs, bicycle tires, motorcycle tires and car tires. There is a small compartment on the back of the handle with accessories for inflating other things. There is a built-in flashlight at the base of the handle. You just press a button on the back to turn it on. That makes it very handy in the dark. The flashlight/battery is detachable for charging and you can use it as a flashlight without having to carry a compressor. It's pretty bright, so it's not just a pretty gadget. I have a 110v pancake compressor that I use to inflate my car tires every month. It's so convenient and fast that I'll probably ditch the larger one and use it for everything. I really didn't expect it to be that good. There are a few less expensive ones out there, and if you just want to inflate bikes and basketballs, these might be your best bets. If you are looking for a quality compressor that actually works, then this is a good option. It looks like a good cordless drill for about the same price.
