Snug and no stretch around the ankle

Bought for my 6 year old. He wears winter boots from Merrell 2 winters in a row. We love their durability and style. This special couple is hard to meet. The laces are designed to be non-loosening, elastic but not stretchy enough to make putting on shoes comfortable. We use a shoehorn. I only gave them 3 stars because my son can't put them on by himself. Otherwise they are comfortable and waterproof.
