This is my second Vizio soundbar (I also have a C6). This one is just as good! The sound is clear, clear, like alive. Bass is adequate (and fairly low) for most applications and normal listening levels. I have two powered 10" subwoofers that sound a lot better, but this Vizio subwoofer isn't far behind. Consider it a very good/small woofer. These things are way better than bulky receivers, amps, big floorstanding speakers, etc. Keep in mind that the sound quality is high (for the price), but they won't produce a deafening sound, but old-school or 7.1 component systems (etc.) will sound louder. I recommend this soundbar/subwoofer to anyone who wants really great, full sound from their TV or computer. UPDATE (October 12, 2017) - Both still work! I love these devices. I use one (C6) via Bluetooth with my laptop (makes video watching great!) The other (D6) is on my 32" HD LED TV in the garage (3.5mm jack). Luckily, the TV has a 3.5mm headphone jack. You can use the TV remote control to adjust the volume. The sound is great (even in the garage) The bass is good. Again, if you want the subwoofer to bang against the wall, you need a larger subwoofer. One thing I noticed is that these devices don't have a "SUB Out" if you want to upgrade. Not exactly a showstopper, but something to consider if you need more bass. Even without a larger sub, these devices will likely be more than adequate for most. Finally, the D6 has the best remote control.
