Most of the complaints in the negative reviews here are true: the earrings are too small (almost microscopic, but pull out the ruler and see what 2mm is. that's for sure); the mounts are tricky to use (the screw mounts themselves are microscopic and also quite stiff to turn, at least for the 2mm lugs I bought, making them extremely awkward to use); and the posts are poorly constructed (they are shorter than a regular pen, but the threads are only at the very top, and the back has a closed end, like a cap, so only the very tip of the thin and pliable support post can go into the pen be screwed in). For my purposes, however, none of these presented a problem. I needed a tiny third lobe piercing, I have good fine motor skills and with an earring this small there is no problem with the nail hanging off the backing so far from the stone setting. Remember that 2mm is LITTLE - it's like trying to handle a tiny grain of couscous.
