I used these to attach a string of lights to the ceiling of my enclosed porch. They are not very visible. The adhesive appears to be strong as the red protective film is difficult to remove. But every other day a bracket or two comes loose from the wall and some of the lamps dangle. I cleaned the area, dried it and put new clips on. I press the clamps firmly against the wall for about 15 seconds. The weather is only about 80 degrees (F). I think melting the glue is not enough. Every time I change the clips I hope they stay this time. Fairy lights don't weigh that much. I use lots of clamps to hold them.
