This spark plug tester worked right out of the box. In daylight it was a bit difficult to see the spark in the garage. I had to close the garage doors so I could see it. Once I got it out of natural sunlight (it was pretty dark) I could see the spark gauge. The cord is also fairly short, so you can't move it around to see by pulling the launch cord. works best with 2 people. It was very cheap and really worked. 4 stars.
