Review on Sew Link Hook Drive Gear Elna by Shantel Griffin

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Both the pin hole and the main shaft hole are too small.

Unfortunately the pin hole is smaller than the original. and the shank size is also smaller. Needs to be carefully enlarged with drill bits and maybe even 400 grit sandpaper on the main hole (wrapped around the drill bit). Very different from the picture shown, especially the size of the pin hole. Probably a production error, but still. Edit: Got a job on Elna 62C SU. I had to use a 1/16" drill bit to widen the pin hole and had to enlarge the main hole with 320 grit sandpaper wrapped around the drill bit. Sewing machine oil on the drilled hole helped, and before mounting on the drive shaft, put the pin in the hole on the gear to make it easier to insert the pin into the bobbin drive shaft. Hope that helps. Upgraded to 4 stars because it works with mods: it's better if it's too small and it's better if it's not metal because it's easier to mod. Not the dealers fault.
