It's a blessing after cheap imitations of the AirPods 3 and the JBL Xtreme. I'm content. I also made excellent use of the feature that allowed me to listen in. Hearing loss brought on by a cold made it difficult to make out conversations at normal volume. As a result, I found that the sound backdrop function helped me hear reasonably well. Whenever I need to have a brief conversation with someone (at a store, for example), I switch it on so that I can continue listening to my music without having to remove my headphones. The headphones kept falling out of the medium ear cushions while I talked or chewed, so I switched to the little ones. Now the headphones stay put, but the noise cancellation is useless; I can hardly tell the difference between having the feature on and off. Thankfully, this turned out to be a non-issue, since both the music and the conversation can be heard clearly over the headphones. As an act of insult, their price dropped by around $1,000 shortly after they arrived.
