I was looking for something attractive to put on a counter or table to hold cutlery. I only have 4 sets of dishes so I don't need anything big. I chose this little wooden coaster and am very happy with it. I have a Knork 4 seater set and it suits me. The handles are all about the same size, including the knives. If your knives have sturdier handles, you might not be able to get more than about 6 slots in this one. I love the look - not too formal and the combination of white and light wood goes perfectly with my kitchen cabinets. . I can leave it on the sideboard and it goes well with my other "countertop" storage containers. Highly recommended.
