The phone does not charge through the case. The watch tends to slip slightly. The headphone case had to be moved around a lot to find a place to charge. It's convenient to do everything in one place. It hurts to remove the charging case. Also, the place where the clock is placed needs a tactile surface to better hold it so it doesn't slip off easily. Just the vibration of a phone call made it slip enough that it wouldn't charge. My watch has a leather strap. The picture they are looking at that they use to sell is a metal strip with a clasp. I think the weight of the band and the closed center clasp keeps it in place better. I'll probably find a small, thin circle of foam to place in the watch area to minimize slippage.
