Bought this item for a friend. However, I believe this is made for cruise bikes. A friend of mine has an adventure bike (compared to a Kawasaki) and his previous cup holder was a RAM open cup holder (flew away on the road). My friend found this more convenient because he says he can put not only his drinks in it but also earplugs and burritos 😆. I think it's dynamic. Dynamic because it moves with the bike (canyons, off-road or everyday). This will prevent the mug from coming loose and of course if you buy the right thermos/mug with a lid. The fabric helps with insulation and also hugs your mug/thermos. I really liked not being able to adjust the rubber teeth on the top that support the cup. You won't see the rubber prongs in my photos because my friend took them off to fit a larger thermos. Considering I bought this product for my friend's wrong bike, I think it's great and comfortable. Has been going strong for 2 years.
