Microphone does not work on webcams

Camera is fine, image is very clear. But I can't get the microphone to work with my HP computer. Nobody can hear me unless I'm using a headset connected to the PC. I would like a manual, but I couldn't find a listing for the company. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.
