My baby can't get these off like she can other shoes and the elastic is sturdy and durable but comfortable. My baby wore almost only these inside and out for nearly five months and we walk a lot- she's even hiked along with us in the woods several times and they're still in good enough shape to put up for our future kids. They're very soft bottomed but still protected her feet even when she walked through broken glass once and many many times on gravel. My favorite thing about these is that they grew with her, literally, they stretched and fit her feet from 8.5 months old to 13 months old as she went up almost two sizes. In addition to being practical and durable we get compliments on them constantly because they're so cute and go well with almost any outfit. We're buying the next size up now and I plan to buy pairs for my nieces and nephews and friends kids for birthday presents because they are that awesome.
