The unassembled box comes with protective plastic corners to keep the corners from wrinkling in transit. The box is a very nice gold color, not lamé gold (remember Yul Brynner's sandals in The Ten Commandments) but a more muted gold with some shine. I can see my reflection a little. Fingerprints are not visible, which is great. Assembly took 10 seconds. It comes with four very sticky round pads. If I could do it again, I would apply the circular adhesives closer to the corners for a more defined corner bond. Otherwise it's a very solid box. The magnetic closures on the front flap are durable. I ordered a 9 x 6 x 4 box. This is a good size for small gifts that you want to keep safe. It's nice that there aren't any stickers on it that need to be peeled off. I think a good investment for the price.
