The outsole is 1/4 inch higher on this model than on the previous model. When I put them on, my dogs didn't recognize me because I was taller than before. Lots of barking until they recognized my voice. I feel much more confident and finally I could resist this cafe "Karen" that always has no line. They are a little tight around the socks so they may need to be broken in. UPDATE: Completely torn. I really like her. Ideal for gardening, workshop and crafts. I've done several day trips in them and I can say that they felt comfortable in every way. I'm also happy to report that Karen recognizes me by these shoes even though my face is masked.
