I bought a large suitcase as our cat has end stage kidney failure and is out of control. I had about a dozen pees in all. I discovered most of them soon after, some sat for a while, one for several hours. While my nose may not be the best in the world, the sofa seems to have survived and I don't feel any remains. I can't imagine how stressed I would be without this sofa cover. I would like to note that a fairly large amount of urine left the underside of the bed covers and couch slightly damp despite the urine having sat on the covers for several hours. However, that part of the couch doesn't seem to smell and a day later the cat came to the same spot (with a quick cleaning) and didn't get wet a second time. Water is a very, very small molecule, so in this case it could have entered through the shell. gradually. I'm not sure what could be preventing this other than the much thicker (and less flexible) plastic. Another note: the lounger cover is not large enough to cover even a medium sized chair. Due to the size I will have to return it.
