When I stumbled across this Prostar computer at Revain, I was immediately struck by the iron-to-price ratio. It's simple: it seemed so much more for less money. That made me suspicious, but also curious. Prostar is a brand of the Korean company Clevo. They pack the high-performance parts that most gamers are looking for in a durable body. Their computers aren't high end, but they work. The packaging is good. They invest almost nothing in marketing and this helps keep sales value low. I bought this laptop as a travel companion with a very reliable home gaming PC. I'm not a gamer. I use these computers for video editing with Magix Vegas and other creative tools. I needed something reliable for the trip. My impressions: - solid construction but not the super cool packaging you get from a big brand (I don't care) - fast and efficient as you'd expect from this device plus great cooling to keep it cooking - great cooling accompanied by some noise when the fans are actually running - great cooling and gaming power will drain your battery quickly - so keep going - great customer service That's what I mean by customer service. I read that you can easily get someone on the phone at Prostar. I asked a few questions and called the number provided. I went to my mailbox and left a message, confident that no one would call me back. About 10 minutes later they called back. The person was friendly, informed, helpful and invited me to call back if I had any further questions. I have made. Same result. Fast callback and replies. If gaming is your life and you are a BRANDED person, this computer may not be able to do it for you. But it will work and looks like it will hold up well. Especially as a second computer, it surpasses my home machine and should actually be the main computer. I recommend it.
