Review on Outlery: The Ultimate Portable Stainless Steel Cutlery Set for Travel, Camping, Picnics, Office, and On-The-Go by Josh Goldsmith

Revainrating 4 out of 5

So cool but expensive

I saw this cookware on Kickstarter a while ago and thought about contributing to their fund. Although I ultimately decided against it, I'm very glad I found her at Revain. These are really cool cookware and I'm a bit obsessed with them. I like the versatility and the ability to store it in a small space. I also like the little turtle shaped dish support. While most will likely use it for camping, I plan on keeping it at work. So many times I go out and buy/bring food and then I realize I forgot to bring the necessary utensils. With this, I can easily put it in my bag and no longer have to worry about forgetting it. I don't have to throw more plastic dishes in the bin either. If I had any criticism, it might be these two: Firstly, I wish they had added chopsticks as part of the set. I use chopsticks more than any other utensil and I think any set is truly incomplete without them. While I can make a makeshift pair of chopsticks out of the current set, it's not exactly perfect. It would be great to have chopsticks in addition to the fork/knife/spoon. Second, I know these chopsticks are available from the company's online store. But I don't want to buy them because they are very expensive. With shipping, a pair costs about $30. This fork/knife/spoon set costs about $40 (excluding shipping). Is it worth spending so much money on a dinnerware set? I think a lot of people could just see it and walk by just because the price seems too high.

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Big and bulky
