I bought this stand because my neck and back hurt from using my laptop mainly on the desk. I've read several articles that suggested lifting the laptop and using an external mouse/keyboard to make it more ergonomic. I like this stand because it stays in place. I was concerned that the weight of the laptop (MacBook Pro) might cause it to fall off over time, but it's good and stays in place even after a few weeks. I haven't tried traveling with it yet, but I folded it. several times so it's a good sign that it still stays in place with all the creases.
