Depends on the size of your windshield, I'm happy

I've wanted one of these since I first saw them in the Sharper Image catalog when they were around $200. I now have one (since 2 months) and I love it. I read a lot of reviews and I think it depends on the size of your windshield and how you install it. I have a 2015 Honda CRV SUV. I recommend heating the suction cups in hot water to reshape them as directed prior to installation. I was able to install in the correct position without cutting off the top or bottom. I installed a few inches from the edge of the passenger side windshield in the correct location so the top would hide under the rear view mirror. The suction cup on the driver's side is also a few inches from the edge. I have an external Sirius XM device that sits in the front corner of the driver's side dash, so the shadow should avoid it. If I slide the blind under the rearview mirror, I don't have to lower two visors. When unhooking the blind to close it on the passenger side, you sometimes need help with the accordion wing, otherwise it doesn't work properly, but not always. Overall though I'm very pleased and would recommend this if you have the right size windshield AND if you can reach the passenger side to pull it out on the driver's side. THAT is another key. If you can't achieve all of this, this isn't for you. If you always have a passenger with you, then lucky you, take them with you. If that's not possible, place it slightly closer to the center on the passenger side (so it doesn't block the driver's view).

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires an outlet
