Good camera, bad design

Great little camera, good build and image quality but resets every time you turn it on or off! Unfortunately, every time you use it, it defaults to the basic settings (e.g. always at wide angle with the traditional distorted image around the edges). It's also quite difficult to use the interface to scroll through the various menu settings before recording. I think I understand electronics but the UI is cumbersome and unless you use the camera every day you'll be fiddling with the UI menu every time you try. Example. Swimming pool, out and about, BBQ, event, etc. If you're looking for a consistent look for daytime videos, you'll need to 1) always use the default settings with wide angle and tunneling, and 2) leave the camera on all day (unlikely) or 3) every time You're trying to capture a moment, spend a few minutes changing your settings before you shoot (often missing a moment). wasn't a problem with previous models) this will be an excellent camera, portable enough to fit in your pocket, reasonable time to turn on and start recording, and great image/video quality. It comes with a variety of handles and attachments, but I found the mini tripod (sold separately) the most handy, which you can still slip in your cat bag, pick up in your hand, and/or quickly stand up on your own (Everyone else in the kit included accessories allow only one or the other, without being able to lie alone).

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
