I was looking for a weatherproof HDMI connection for outdoor family movie nights. I needed to route the video source from the receiver to the projector without adding an extra 30ft of active HDMI cable to the path, but had to keep it airtight for the time it wasn't in use. When I found this, I was thrilled! This allows me to use a 3 foot cable from the receiver to the plug through a 1 inch hole I inserted into a glass panel installed in front of the receiver on the side of my shed. a small amount of transparent silicone as additional insurance to prevent water from entering. This sleeve has a durable rubber seal inside the cap that keeps the connector dry and free of debris. The other half attaches to the glass with a large nylon nut and rubber O-ring. Now that I have movie night, I simply unscrew the cap and connect a heavy-duty 20-foot cable from the port to the projector. Works great, no loss of video and audio signal! It is very well built for such a small piece! When you need to make a strong connection through a thin piece of material, this is what you need! What a wonderful find! The first picture shows how I installed the adapter through the glass panel I installed on the side of my shed, the second picture shows the projector showing full HD video with the adapter. UPDATE: This connector doesn't specify HDMI 2.2, but thought I'd give it a try and see if it would support 4k transmission. To my delight, that was it. full support for HDR and 60fps. I know it's not certified for this, but it works. I used a gaming computer and 4k certified cables for my 4k TV. worked great! This makes this future proof for my needs!
