I wanted to get rid of my wrist rest mouse pads. I often didn't like that feel and felt limited by the inability to move the mouse past the palm rest. This meant I had to constantly take my mouse out to make room for movement. This sliding mount eliminated these problems. Now I still have the wrist support I want, but I can also make better use of my desk space for the mouse. A good product. It will take some time to get used to resting your hand on the two devices when reaching for the mouse, but it will soon become second nature.
