Obviously they're big - 2 gallons, which is nice. Very thick material. Two reasons I gave it 4 stars: Firstly because the seal wasn't as strong as I needed it to be - I tried to keep the liquid in the bag and the seal didn't hold the liquid when I moved the bag . The bags are great for meat and other non-liquid foods, the seal is so good that I don't hesitate to put the food I need to defrost in a double boiler without fear of water getting into the bag. Second reason for 4 stars, the corners are a bit difficult to clean (because the bag is so deep. - I think I would have preferred much more rounded corners, they are easier to dry with a microfiber towel as air drying is difficult, since you have to keep the bag "open". They REALLY make it easier to thaw food in a double boiler because they don't let air in. When I drained the spaghetti noodles and hot water got on the bag, the hot water deformed it pouch and of course it was the edge where the zip was - so one pack went bad - i really wanted to deduct a star but there is a 'no heat' badge on the bag so it was my fault.
