It works just like the original. One of the main differences between this car and the original is that the original body was made of two parts: yellow and black. I dropped the phone and the handle broke at the junction of the yellow and black pieces. This pen survived two more falls (I have terrible phone handling and need screen protectors and strong cases). Not only would I suggest this as a replacement, I would say it's a must have for anyone with a brand new Note 9. Just keep the original stylus as a replacement and use it.
