***Update 2***After having to pay over $50 to ship it to Acer, he came back with them and literally did nothing with them. Apparently they couldn't find the problem so they sent it back to me. After two weeks things start to fall apart. First, as another reviewer noted, the top left corner of the case that holds the screen literally falls apart. Considering I'm right-handed and don't even touch the top left corner of the screen, I don't see how normal wear and tear could cause this. A few days later, the bottom right part of the shell also began to fall apart. I can literally see the inside of an LCD screen. Not to mention my original touchpad issue was never resolved. The processing quality of this computer is beyond any doubt. I called customer service and since I've had this computer for exactly 91 days (one day more than the limited warranty) I not only have to pay for shipping, I can also be held responsible for the cost of repairs. Keep in mind that I have already sent it to them before and had to pay for the shipping myself. just stay away Stay away! ***Update 1*** I want to love this laptop but the poor build quality is starting to show. The screen detaches from the case as other reviewers have noted. The touchpad sometimes gets stuck in the click position. I contacted customer service and had to pay shipping to their center (note this is still under warranty). They sent it back and said they couldn't fix the problem. ***Original Post*** I needed a regular laptop for grad school. I have to carry it with me every day and it's light enough and the battery lasts long enough to get the job done. It can work seamlessly with advanced data analysis software (STATA and SPSS). If you're looking for a good laptop for work and the occasional Netflix episode between classes, then this is it!
