The lamp provides sufficient light and distributes the light indirectly. Quality looks good, assembly is not difficult. It's worth noting that the darkest color shown is a medium turquoise, not as dark as the picture, and the blue is a fairly intense sky blue. All of these colors are fairly saturated (except for white, as you can see), so the lamp fits well in the room I put it in (but not the best choice for those who want a more subtle color palette: all colors are something lighter than the pictures shown). As others have pointed out, there are three settings: 2 lights, 3 lights opposite, and all lights together. Quite by accident I set it up so that the yellow and orange bulbs are on one setting and the white, blue and turquoise are on the other. I like this a lot because the first setting produces a very warm, deep tone and the second a bright, cold tone.
