Nice little radio. I use it daily. It takes up very little space and can be easily moved around the house. The sound quality is pretty good considering the size of the speaker. The battery life seems to be good. I cannot rate LW reception as this band is not used here in the US. Local MW reception is very good. DX MW is marginal and could probably be much better with a larger internal antenna or AM loop. Local stations sound loud and clear. Local FM reception is very good and stereo when using headphones. Some more distant stations sound surprisingly good on FM. SW is the main reason I bought this radio. A fairly large section of the shortwave spectrum is shown, which basically includes all areas of international broadcasting. Performance is decent considering the size and cost. DSP guarantees zero drift. When you reach a certain frequency, you will be banned. Reception on SW is fine. There are only two downsides to this radio that I have identified. MW reception over long distances is not that good. A slightly larger indoor antenna can make a big difference. I wish this radio had a numeric keypad for direct frequency entry. Both could have happened if the radio housing had been a bit larger. However, these two points are secondary in the overall picture. This is a budget receiver and you get great value for your money. The VITE VT-111 is an exceptional value at $18.99. Alwaysonline's customer service was simply outstanding! Angela contacted me twice. The first time I had to make sure I received the radio in order. It was done over the phone. The second contact was to ask me if my radio was working properly. This was done via email. It was amazing in my book! I hope to deal with these people in the future as they genuinely care about the entire customer experience. UPDATE: I bought a second one because I saw some recent youtube videos of the newer V111s that seemed to work really well. I must say that looking for a new one is worth it. The performance of MW has been greatly improved. On this I can receive regional stations during the day and many distant stations after dark. Now there is much less interior noise. SW is also much better. The indicator LED is now white. The old version had an amber backlight that made it difficult to see things in low light. So be sure to get one of these if you're looking for an inexpensive MW/FM/SW pocket radio that works well on all bands.
