Review on Nikon 17-55mm f/2.8G IF-ED Zoom Lens with Auto Focus - Ideal for Nikon DSLR Cameras by Bali ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

It has some flaws but the product is usable.

I do not own this lens. There was an opportunity to purchase in good condition - used. Before buying, I took a try, in absentia, realizing that I would not return. Made three photo shoots - on the street, D Births in the apartment and the New Year's holiday in kindergarten (which I regretted not taking 18-105, about which you know what you will get at the exit). In general, soap soap (in the premises). Maybe the lack of a stub, or in conjunction with my D-90. I must say right away that I also shot "Zenith V" hand-held at school in photo 65 at 1/30, 1/60 is normal. Everything is ok on the street, but I duplicated it with my standard lens, since there were traces in the snow and it was possible to walk around the second circle and shoot the key "test points" from about the same angle. Arriving home, I began to compare, and was precipitated by the difference in the pictures - it simply did not exist. Perhaps I have a biased attitude towards the lens for 80 and more to date, and I've sent a couple of shots to friends. An artist-photographer (having previously warned what is what) and a person who has nothing to do with the photo (he was no longer told what the photographs were taken of). In confirmation, I received reviews in almost zero difference ! On a children's tree I made a "favorite" shot of a tablet filming a scene, which always comes out unmistakably - yesterday there was one soap on the tablet and beyond. Where sharp? What's this? The owner had good photos on the lens, but these are photos in the summer, on vacation, i. E. where and with aperture 16 . you can work, but why then such a miracle for such money, where do my 18-105 and 85 / 1,8 cope? I always knew that heavy things are reliable and solid, and in favor of quality, you can also vilify (sorry for unnecessary iii) suffer. But he is really heavy. What to take next? 12-24, 24-70 - are they the same? Maybe fix 35 or 70-300, maybe 70-200 2.8, I don’t know, now I’m afraid that being determines consciousness, and if you first lay out tens of thousands of, then there will be reasons for the usefulness of the acquisition. People, think about what to pay for. It's better to test drive before buying

Pros
  • Assembly, workmanship
Cons
  • price - quality of shooting, weight
