I tried about 10 dog vests to find one that fits my Shih Tzu. She is on the top of the rock (by no means clean) at 13#. This is the first one I won't be returning, so it says "something". He is tall. I measured her (neck, back and chest) and ordered her to be the guide (small). It's very long, but mostly only at the top so as not to disturb her business and not rest too far in her tail. Velcro comes to the rescue for this. Wearing it with the velcro as close as possible allows for a good fit on it (a bit loose but good). The bad news is that the extra Velcro (and jacket trap) slips out and looks a bit awkward. If I could sew I would have cut her but I'm glad she has a matching jacket. The quality is good, washed without problems. It says do not dry (even in the drum) so I didn't. although I would because I think a little psychiatrist would be helpful. But I'm afraid that the material won't withstand it.
