Aggravated diaper rash

I don't normally write bad reviews but for this one pack of wipes my husband and I agreed to share our experience. Two week old son cleaned all our favorite towels after Covid-19. We were concerned because he had a pretty bad diaper rash from another 'organic' brand that was just starting to get better when we switched to our preferred brand. Since we were almost out of supplies, we figured they would be touted as "comforting" and would be useful. The fact that they say they are chemical free, hypoallergenic and made for newborns also made us think they would be a good choice despite the price. After just one application my son's rash started bleeding. The skin around his buttocks is also inflamed, and now we're trying to catch up. Any change will cause the newborn to bleed and cry, and we're not sure if it's the material in the wipes or the essential oils they contain that are irritating his skin. We're luckier with damp washcloths than these wipes, which are said to be "gentle enough for your face, hands, and butt." Thanks to a friend we were able to get a box of unscented wipes for sensitive skin which helped slow down the rash. The rest of this packet of wipes goes into our holdall where hopefully they will find use as they don't scratch my husband's skin. I would suggest testing a small area on your own skin before using them on an infant, but the price suggests skipping this purchase altogether unless you run into someone who already has the pack, that you can take. They may be good for adult skin, but I really recommend something without additives, essential oils or anything like that for your newborns.
