My husband is nat. The teacher, he and his colleagues wanted to buy two styrofoam balls without a plastic coating. They had these balls and the plastic coating was starting to crack and peel, so they figured uncoated balls would work better. He bought this and a 7 inch styrofoam ball from Champion Sports. Both are absolutely identical. When they arrived we actually couldn't tell them apart. Considering there is a $2 difference between the two, I would suggest just going with the cheaper one. You literally can't tell the difference. They seem to hold up well to the rigors of high school kids, but are a bit more expensive. You can usually get these cheaper through your orders earlier in the year, but in a pinch they fit the bill. Note that they are not smooth, they are rough foam because the inside looks like a soft ball with regular coverage, if that makes sense.
