Waste of Money - Door and Stair Gate

Simply take filler and drill through the stair post. If you are like me look for this product because there are many kids gates and they are all stunning. Clamping flap or rigid bracket? So you get this to save your ladder rack as the baby gates need to be hardwired at the top of the stairs. And you want your child to be safe on the upper deck. You'll spend a little more (baby gates are expensive anyway) and choose this one to save your home from all the holes you need to poke to protect your child: ROPS; cabinet locks, etc. Well, it's better to just drill a few extra holes for the ladder post. It's incredibly thin. Too thin for the nails and screws my baby gate came with at the top of the stairs. The screws were about three inches long; that's about two inches more than this adapter will work. "No problem," you think, "I'll just use shorter children's gate screws so I don't have to drill holes in the stair posts YET!" Good. learn it I made it as tight as possible. And by me I mean my husband. He is also a skilled craftsman. And this adapter still slipped. Side by side. It's pretty easy too. Too high a risk for the top of the stairs. What's the use of attaching my baby gate to it if it's not even safe in and of itself? Forget this product. Invest in a strong, durable baby gate for the top of the stairs to protect your child and simply drill through the stair post. Then use a wooden spatula. Save your money, it's definitely a waste. I REALLY don't understand all the positive reviews and five stars (which initially convinced me to buy).
