This is a "regular" chair. It's comfortable enough and the back is probably high enough for most people. I'm 6ft 6in and my back goes over my shoulders. The lock for the swinging part is not strong. If you latch it and sit back too long it will pop out and make a loud popping noise, causing the chair back to fly backwards and possibly a small stain on the seat if you're not careful. It was quite frustrating to put together alone It would be helpful if you had a second person next to you who could help you. It was difficult to stay in place while trying to level it and drive the screw in, and due to the cushioning around the screw holes, you have to push a bit to get the screw in the hole to get started. Overall I'm happy with the chair, I spend more than 9 hours in it every day and I've never had a real problem.
