Review on ClosetMaid 6107 Decorative 3-Cube Storage Organizer, Dark Chestnut by Monique Ahn

-12/02/20-I’m late to review this product so I’m sorry for that. This review is for the ClosetMaid 1327 Decorative 9 cube organizer weathered gray.First off the instructions have you put items of the weakest part of the shelf. I did exactly what the instruction said and the shelves broke after a few "uses”. Putting children’s items on/off the shelf and probably a little bit of leaning on them from small kids.I would highly advise using the long section of board as the base to set your items on and the shorter pieces to just separate the sections with no weight in them.I’m not sure why the instructions said to use the short pieces as the base to set items on. They are clearly not strong enough to hold much weight at all.I glued the two broken shelves back together and flipped it the other way (long boards horizontal) and I’ll see how durable that section is.Even the pictures posted here on Walmart show the short boards being used as the base to set items on. If you follow their instructions for this placement be aware your shelf Could break.There is only one picture/diagram showing the shelf positioned properly on this page. It has the measurements on the diagram.Also it’s probably best to use small staples for the back piece instead of the mini nails provided. With the nails the back may stay on if it’s never touched. Small staples may provide a better experience.—Other than that big complaint about instructions.The unit does look nice. Color is fairly neutral so it can easily match most rooms.Very handy when needing some decent shelving in a room without any. The extra storage is always a good thing. The bins that fit inside the slots can hold a good amount of small items.Overall thought, I would probably try it out again. At least now I know to not follow the section about positioning. I like the color and the simple design.
