First of all, this isn't your typical "tapping" massager. Instead, it's an electrode massager. The main device has two metal plates that send an electronic pulse to your skin. You need the supplied remote control to operate the main unit. There is only one on/off switch on the main unit. You cannot work directly from the main unit. The remote control has 4 sections: massage mode (1-9), intensive (1-50), heating (1-3) and time (10-30). It's very easy. You don't need a manual to see how it works. When charging is complete, the side light changes from red to blue - the side with the company logo. I've used an electrode massager before, so I'm used to the electronic pulse. I use this device at an intensity of 30-50. However, if you are new to this type of massager, I suggest you start with a low intensity first and then increase as you become comfortable with the electronic pulse. I particularly like the heating function. It won't make your skin too hot. It's like wearing a warm towel. Great buy for me!
