I ordered this unit to replace a worn gas spring on a leather executive office chair. Installation was so easy. Remove the old gas spring cylinder from the chair, lower the new lift onto the chair base, lower the chair over the new gas cylinder. It's that easy. Now how does it work? Fiction. Lowering the chair was slow and easy. Not jerky like some. Very responsive when returning to the highest setting. Once you reach a comfortable height, that stands at that height. Very strong on the chair. No setback. I recommend this replacement to everyone.
