In every category there are companies that are known as hidden gems because their quality products are offered at an affordable price. I believe that Brainwavz is the company related to the previous statement. I have already had the pleasure of trying some of their products, so I had high expectations when I was offered the opportunity to test this product. The packaging is great as usual. The product is packed in a box, in a protective carrying case, which can be used every day if you are one of those people who often lose their headphones. What I really appreciate about what Brainwavz does as a company for all of their products is that they offer a variety of headphone sets, allowing the listener to try different types of headphones to find the perfect sound they are looking for. The design of the headphones is really successful. The components are housed in a metal case with a polished and brushed finish that creates a sleek look in a variety of lighting conditions. They're a mix of different shades of gray and light burgundy, which is Brainwavz's usual signature color, and I have to say that not only does it look great, but it sets you apart from the rest of the crowd that tends to use the popular solid colors. Although the earphones have a metal body, they are not heavy at all and are very comfortable even for long-term use. The cable consists of a small remote control that allows you to control the volume, play/pause music and switch with a double click. However, as stated on the packaging, the controls do not appear to work for Android devices, only iOS devices, but play/pause works for both platforms. Now we come to the main aspect of headphones - the sound quality. I say that about every Brainwavz headphone and it's again in this product and how well they balance sounds. Regular headphones these days tend to have overwhelming bass that creates muddy noises that sometimes kill out the mids and even highs. I'm a person who loves very instrumental music genres like rock/metal/classical etc. These headphones are excellent when it comes to balancing the sound of different instruments. Everything seems to be at eye level and nothing predominates. If you're more into bass-heavy genres like electronic music or hip/hop, don't worry, they work too. The bass is very tight and the drops sound incredible. If I had one complaint it would be that the sound could have been a little better. While they're loud enough to block out outside interference, their maximum volume isn't all that impressive. However this varies from device to device, on a computer they can be quite loud but when I tested two phones (Galaxy Note 5, iPhone 6S plus) they were a bit quieter but worked better on the Note 5 but the difference is very small. All in all, these are incredible headphones that should cost a lot more, but hey, as consumers, we should never complain about that! Once again I received these headphones in exchange for an honest review and I couldn't be more honest in saying they are amazing and a steal at this price point.
